How to frame quality NCERT answers?

Students studying under the CBSE board often unable to frame quality NCERT answers to the end-of-chapter NCERT questions. They consider the exercise of framing NCERT answers as tedious, tiring and time consuming. A very thought like this, undermines the importance of this chapter-end exercise. It is imperative for students to understand that a majority of questions asked in the final CBSE examinations are in accordance to the question pattern prescribed in these NCERT books. Therefore, in order to score great marks in the final examination students should give the required emphasis while framing NCERT answers to the end-of-chapter exercise.

Here are a few tips for all the students who face difficulty in framing NCERT answers. These tips will help students frame quality answers and that too with ease.

  • Before starting to write the NCERT answers, students should first thoroughly go through the chapter and highlight the important points under each topic. An exercise like this will help students get a hang of the chapter and will also equip them with key points that could make the task of writing NCERT answers easy!
  • Once through with reading the chapter thoroughly and highlighting the key points, the next important step is to understand the question and accordingly write the answer. In order to write NCERT answers that can fetch students their dream score, students should first analyze various aspects in the question closely. Writing NCERT answers as per the requirements of the question can help students arrive at solutions that can make scoring in the final examinations very easy. To help students learn how to analyze a question here are a few pointers
  • Before starting to write the NCERT answer, students should carefully read the instruction in the question and accordingly tailor their answer. The approach towards attempting to answers should ideally vary on the basis of the key word in the question such as ‘classify’, ‘compare and contrast’, ‘elucidate’ etc.
  • While framing NCERT answers students should lay maximum emphasis on the main subject in the question. For example in a question like- ‘Enumerate the measures taken by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to curb the problem of female infanticide in Rajasthan?’ The main subject is ‘the problem of female infanticide’. Therefore, while answering, students should build the introduction to their answers and the main content around this subject.
  • Students should also not miss out on the other significant information in the question. In the above example, all relevant measures taken should be pointed only in the context of Rajasthan and not any other state. Doing so will help them score good marks
  • If students choose not to invest so much s NCERT answers, they can seek help from the free NCERT solutions available by a variety of websites. The free NCERT answers provided in these websites follow the guidelines prescribed by the NCERT and the CBSE. These NCERT answers are further supported by relevant illustrations that can make understanding easy.
